Crafting causes lag/FPS drops [Forge 1.20.1 v19] #711

Describe the Bug

Trying to do various things in the 3x3 crafting grid on the latest version of the modpack severely though briefly lags my game, but it happens repeatedly enough that it's incredibly annoying when trying to do any significant amount of crafting.

Opening the crafting menu, double clicking an item to take every item out of the 3x3 grid, and especially right-click dragging items onto the grid makes it particularly noticeable.

This happens to me in Singleplayer on both Java 17 and 18, with 8 GB of memory allocated.

I noticed there is a large spam of OpenGL debug messages all saying the same thing about an invalid texture name. I assume it's connected to the problem, but I can't say for sure.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Get a full stack of any item.
  2. Move it over to any slot in a crafting table's 3x3 grid and hold right-click while dragging it all over the spaces in the grid.
  3. Witness lag beyond human comprehension. ...

Run /sparkc profiler start and then replicate the lag. Run the stop command afterwards and send the link
