make some functionality to support impossible to type commands in nano

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. On the older release's (for lack of a number) type "nano"
2. hold down finger and get an option of a few boxes a few of which for nano 
(put there for lack of a control key)
3. This was great, but now it doesnt exist, making nano and vim useless on 
ipod, ipad and iphone.

I think it might be could if we could bring some sort of functionality like 
that back, making nano and vim useful from the iDevice itself instead of just 
ssh'ing into it. 

Just a thought.

I am marking this issue as WontFix because there is a menu that can support 
arbitrary commands.  For now, the only way to include control characters is to 
edit the .plist configuration file on disk, but its better than nothing.  A 
separate bug could be filed to improve that, perhaps.
