Hello Could you please provide information about the RJ45 connector you used in your design? Is there any suitable ISA bracket on the market? Regards Christian

Hello Christian,

The RJ45 connector is Shenzhen Cankemeng C133529

Just recently, the part also started being available at JLC for automated assembly. This feature is brand-new, so I haven't tested it yet. Every part has a "LCSC" property in KiCad, which contains a LCSC.com part number. If you add that property with "C133529", automated assembly probably just works fine.

The optional header connectors for the jumpers can also be assembled now, if you add the LCSC part numbers. (again, untested).

The bracket is designed for a Keystone Electronics 9202.

If you get your own boards made, I'd be happy to receive a photo :smiley:

Ok I tried adding every needed part for automated assembly at JLCPCB. It was a quite frustrating experience.

Because of all that, I then had the idea, why not just order the PCB from JLCPCB and order the parts from Mouser / Aliexpress and do it all by myself. Then I realised that there are 0402 parts, which are really really small for hand soldering and also the quarz would be difficult.

With all this in mind I am now at a point where I think about redesigning what you did and changing it to THT parts where possible. This would probably be a better solution for the experienced hobbyist. Parts could be ordered at Aliexpress / Mouser, maybe even with several options for a specific part or different suppliers.

I'd really like to hear your opinion. The idea of building a NE2000 compatible card for old PCs is really great.

Hi Christian,

there is a fork of this project where all the small resistors (optimized for JLC) were replaced with 0805 components which are easily handsolderable. (even easier then THT, imho!)

The only special part is the RTL8019. You can buy everything else directly at LCSC, reichelt, etc. No real need for mouser (except for the slot covers).

PS: I just looked and saw the price for the RTL8019 at JLC. Oops! That‘s a new development, these things used to cost 0.93$ a couple of month ago!

So, the question then becomes...is there any other, currently-manufactured/available (possibly NOS) connector with a near-identical footprint?

The manufacturer part number is RJ45-B-1*1

Digging in to this a bit more, it looks like the above Chinese-manufactured part is likely to be a clone/knock-off of the Wurth Elektronik 615008137421. The specification sheet for this part, which includes the mechanical dimensions, can be viewed at https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/445/615008137421-1718325.pdf

I've ordered a handful of these to test with a run of boards I had assembled without the RTL8019AS and the RJ45 connector. I have several dozen RTL8019AS chips to use to complete assembly.

I can confirm that the Wurth Elektronik 615008137421 part is a perfect match. The Chinese part is likely a clone of it. It mates perfectly in the PCB.
