Feature Request: Visual difference between short and long breaks #110

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
This is a feature request for a minor (but useful!) change in the interface.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Work for 4 pomodoro
2. Start the 4th break

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The "Break timer" looks like the timer of any other break.
Expected: it should be clear that this is a longer one (20 mins instead of 5
mins)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.9 on Ubuntu

Please provide any additional information below.

I have not found any visual clue allowing to know whether the current Break is
a short one (after each pomodoro) or a long one (every 4 pomodoros).

It would be good to inform the user about it. I see several solutions (but feel
free to implement any other one):
* Add a countdown with a smaller font to see the remaining time in the break
* Change the text from "On Break" to "On 4-pomodoro break" (or be more creative
:))
* Change the countdown color (Orange or Blue instead of Green)

I agree with this request. It would be helpful to know how long the break is
supposed to last before starting the break.

Another possible option would be to count down for the break (as in regular
timer) instead of count up.

Although the length can be set in the configuration menu, it might also be nice
to have a way to be change the length before starting the count down (or count
up) timer.
