Haven't worked on this today - Spent the day just thinking about it though. I've decided to try moving the button off the page entirely and using the HTML popup feature (it's got an ugly name in my opinion - it's not a popup, it's a dropdown.)

Anyway, I'll specify "default_popup" in the manifest.json file and then work out the formatting of the dropdown from there in a new HTML document.

In the future there is absolutely no doubt that I will give it another go to include the button directly on the iCloud page. Whilst this refactor will give both functionality of my extension and iCloud without conflict, it now deviates from my original vision on how I would have liked the app to look (Play Midnight by @chrisxclash has been a big influence on daylight even though it's quite different - I love the idea of having the settings button integrated directly into the webpage as if it were a native page element) I will definitely return to giving this another try in the future (and it's fair to say this isn't my design for the frontend at all, it's just something to click on to test my backend functionality).
