What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Add applet
2. Preferences: Show applet icon
3. Preferences: Show thumbnails

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The chosen icon is not shown any more.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.6.4 on Ubuntu karmic
I believe this behaviour came with the update from jaunty to karmic.

Hi there,

Not sure what this could be, but my first suggestion would be to try another
icon
theme and see if the problem persists. Please try that and let me know what
happens.

Thanks,
a.

Hi,

I switched to icon theme "Humanity" without any success. I also tried changing
the
complete theme to Ubuntus standard "Human".

Regards,
Florian

Hmm,

No ideas yet... Resorting to voodoo :-/ Try re-installing the app (and don't
forget
to restart it).

Already tried reinstalling. ;-)
Can you tell me where configuration data is saved?

:-(

Runtime configuration is in gconf. run gconf-editor from the command line and
navigate to apps/panel/applets/

Then you'll have to find the entry for this applet; it'll be applet_xx where xx
is a
number.

I don't think that's the problem though, since the individual file icons don't
show
up and that information is not part of the runtime config.

I had a look at the prefs. If I click on an entry in
/apps/panel/applets/applet_10/prefs I get a warning: this key is not associated
with
any scheme (not only for entry "icon", but also for the others ("dirs",
"editor", etc.)).

Is there any possibility to debug / get a logfile or something else?

Hi there, great little applet it's really handy :)

The lack of menu icons showing in 9.10 Ubuntu Karmic is to do with the new Gnome
setting of hiding all menu icons by default.

To get the icons back, go to:
System > Preferences > Appearance > Interface tab
..and tick 'show icons in menus'

In a way this behaviour is correct because it observes the preference in Gnome.
