Hi There,
This project is in Launchpad. https://launchpad.net/file-browser-applet. Andrew
Starr-Bochicchio is the package maintainer.
Do I need to do something else?
Axel.

Yes, but it is not ppa (Personal Package Archive), and users can't easily
install
updates for the software.
Please make ppa for the software, like described here:

Hi again,
Andrew has it in his PPA. https://launchpad.net/~andrewsomething/+archive/ppa. I
don't duplicate his work (hes much better a that than me anyway), but I'd
certainly
say it isn't obvious that a PPA exists for this project. Maybe better/more
obvious
info on the project page pointing users to Andrew's PPA would be enough?
Cheers,
a.

Hi :)
Unfortunately, despite of this PPA Description, last build of
file-browser-applet
has version 0.6.4-0ubuntu1~ppa1~jaunty (2009-07-01) (for ubuntu jaunty)
Pointing this PPA AND making build of version 0.6.5 for at least karmik and
lucid
would be enought for now, i think.

Sorry about that. I've been a bit remiss in keeping the PPA up-to-date. Your
right that only
0.6.4 was available. I've just backported 0.6.5 to the PPA for all supported
Ubuntu releases
except Hardy. The current version won't work (or even build) on Hardy as that
release doesn't
have a new enough version of GTK. So Hardy is stuck on 0.5.9
My personal PPA includes a mess of other things, that's why I created one just
for file-browser-
applet awhile back. You should point people there instead:
https://launchpad.net/~file-browser-applet-dev/+archive
It's linked on https://launchpad.net/file-browser-applet

I think it's a good idea to add link to a PPA to the page
http://code.google.com/p/gnome-menu-file-browser-applet/wiki/Installation )
