I assume this was done to punish the player for trying to escape a boss. Any reason not to just throw them outside of one of the gates? They're only open for 60s, so tossing them back out seems like it might be punishment enough. We could split the room right down the middle -- blink west, end up outside the west gate. Blink east, end up outside the east gate.
In the Lupogg King/Sewer King Lair (go rid_sew_king; sewking.roo, sewking.kod), players will have to use a lever on both sides of the room to open the gates allowing them to go further.
Once they open the gates, a hole in the center of the map, which coincides with the spawning of the Lupogg King, will form. The players then jump down into the chasm to approach and fight the King.
If a player dies here, their loot remains (as it is a boss lair, like Orc Pit Boss).
If a player logs off, either inside the main chamber with the Lupogg King, or anywhere else past the gates - they will return to the blink spot, which is inside the chasm if a Lupogg King is alive, or center of map between the gates if he isn't.
In either case, there is no way to leave the room at this point unless the player has the spell rescue.
