Teams meeting URL's dont work when used in Chat #2010

Im trying to direct people in a teams meeting to a new meeting space by pasting the meeting URL in chat space . I have successfully been doing this since march as a way of using breakout rooms. Im using windows 10 app

Since recent update this doesnt work now - instead when users click on new meeting URL they are directed to a 'meeting now' meeting palce that is seperate on their own. all people are in a meeting on their own

When unchecking this option - it works fine again image

Can someone investigate?
