Contributor can't upload pictures with flash based upload #481

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Turn on role possibilities for contributor's upload pictures.
2. Create new gallery
3. Upload new pictures to new gallery with turned on flash upload.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

HTTP error for every picture

What WordPress / NextGEN Gallery version are you using? What browser are
you using?

Latest nextgen version and latest google chrome.

Please provide any additional information below.

With turned off flash based upload all pictures uploads fine, also admin can
upload pictures without any problems.

Hi,
I'm encountering exactly the same and would like to add some details.
(Hope this is OK with everybody.)

Any role except admin cannot bulk upload pics, getting a http error. (Before
upgrading to WP 3.3.2 it had been an error 500)
Zip and sigle upload work fine. Also, creating a gallery works fine for
everyone.

When I change rights and give admission to "upload files" for that role, flash
upload works fine. But then, all those users will be able to not only see but
also edit (and thus also delete) all files in the "Mediathek" (sorry, don't
know what it's called in English) - the media storage place where all the pics
used in articles or pages sit. I don't want to give them access there though...
All I need is a Dummy safe frontend uploader/resizer.

I detected your fix for Flash 10 back from 2008 - is there a chance that you
could find such a solution for now too? Or, putting it differently, is there a
possibility that the solution could be related to the one used back then?

I am using NextGEN Gallery 1.9.3 on WP 3.3.2 and Firefox 12. SOme of my users
(subscribers) also tried effortless to upload pics, unfortunately I don't know
what browsers or flash version they did use. Sorry.

Hope this helps and didn't bother anyone!

Same here, have a big collection of more than 700 pictures to import and must
figure out how to do it in bulk
