Here is an initial write-up of this project: https://github.com/MsGotschi/arduinoReactionGame
@MsGotschi sounds really interesting, we have a lot of really cool Pi stuff, think this would tie in well. Any youths at the National College for Digital Skills we could invite to MozFest to come take part maybe :)?
@mattdigitalme another one for badging in the youth Zone :)
@EPIKhub this is actually more Arduino than RPi... just the computer used is a RPi We will be encouraging ALL our students to attend MozFest @mattdigitalme trying to create a badge right now!
@MsGotschi Yes "fit in" as part of the diverseness of tech in existence; using the right tool for the job style :) We also have Micro bit coming too as well as the HTC Vive so should be a fab offering of tech to play with from Code to Art :D
@MsGotschi Ill email you separately for your plans with getting the college youth to come
@MsGotschi What ages would you be expecting for this workshop? And what would be your ideal session length?
@MsGotschi Looks good. You could use a simple platform like https://www.badgecraft.eu to create a badge that could be issued. Using this platform you can print a list of codes that you give out to participants on the day - then they can claim the badge at a later date.
@Craig88 thanks - I've started using the OBA - maybe we can compare notes on different platforms sometime?
@gbaman I don't really see a age limit - if participants are very young they are often there with a parent, but our students will also be there to help. I'm hoping that many of them will so we could actually have a helper for every participant. We've also got Helen from www.doitkits.com to help.
@MsGotschi @EPIKhub Yup - Spoke to Tina about this today actually - definitely one to badge for the Festival! Ill set up a call between the 3 of us. YouthZone space have room to host this?
@MsGotschi @EPIKhub I'm removing the Badges label as this is happening in Youth - but we're going to be setting up Arduino badges (lots of other sessions) so I think these would work for this - sound good?
@mattdigitalme no problems! As long as it is badged :)

Description
This session is a workshop that teaches participants to code a simple reaction game on an Arduino. It also teaches the fundamentals of wiring up a breadboard with an LED and a push button.
If possible and time permits, we would like to offer a digital badge for this session. We might need some help with this.
Agenda
We will bring Raspberry Pis loaded with Arduino software as well as Arduino kits with all the necessary hardware for the game. We'll take participants through the steps of setting up the hardware and coding it. Students from the College will assist along with written and online documentation.
Participants
We will be able to accommodate up to 30 participants (in groups of 2 - we will have 15 Pis and kits, but will need screens). We will have up to 30 students to allow for a one-to-one workshops with participants. It would be great to have parent-child combos participating.
Outcome
The outcomes for our (Ada College) students after the festival will be: -attending MozFest and becomming lifelong Mozfesters -running a session and teaching a variety of participants
How to take the activities forward for our students -They propose a session for MozFest 2017 -They run an after school club/code club for local schools in the future
How to take the activities forward for participants
