@jwulf Interesting session; would you still be able to attend MozFest without being allocated a travel Stipend?
Negative, I'd need a plane ticket to come.
@KirstieJane where you at with this one?
@jwulf - would this work on a Pi?
Hi @EPIKhub - Open Innovation are looking forward to accepting this session....but we haven't yet decided about stipends. Sorry to be so slow on this front! 😞
@KirstieJane np just let me know before the stipend deadline if you can, I have 1 stipend left and short listing for it - for it to work for us it would have to be able to work on a Pi tho @jwulf
Hi @EPIKhub - do you mean the client? Yes, we can get that to run on a Raspberry Pi.
@gbaman of interest for the Pi Labs?
Hey, if the stipend is an issue, no problem. I can get a local CoderDojo or Code Club mentor who uses Magikcraft, or someone from Lær Kidsa Koding, to come and run the workshop.
Hi @jwulf - we (the Open Innovation space) aren't able to provide a stipend unfortunately.
Did you get an email from @bacharakis last week about your session? Can you confirm that you'll be at Mozfest, or if someone will be presenting in your place? Let me know if you'd like me to send the email again
Hi @KirstieJane, yes, we'll have someone there. Could you please resend the email? Thanks!

What will happen in your session?
Participants can try out Magikcraft - a revolutionary system that integrates Minecraft with GitHub, NPM, and the web browser - allowing users to write code in their web browser, and run code directly from GitHub in Minecraft.
They will go through a number of the learning scenarios in Magikcraft - an episodic, story-driven narrative. It's Dungeons N' Dragons meets Open Source coding in the world's most popular video game.
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
Coding is often taught as a solo activity - an individual at a keyboard, solving a problem. However, in practice it's a team sport, and the social coding aspect of it - including pull requests and community building - is as important as the technical aspect. Participants will walk away with a first-hand experience of this, and how to teach this from the very beginning.
If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.
A projector would be handy.
