@ammienoot Awesome to finally see a session from you :)
Hello @ammienoot - We are very happy to announce you that we have decided to accept your session at the festival this year! Congratulations! 🎉 You'll receive soon news about how move forward with your proposal
Hi there - I am still good to run this session. If there was another Wikimedian from London who was able to come along and help me run the session would it be possible to get another ticket for them? This is only a maybe, but I've had an offer of help which could be good! Thanks :-)
Hello @ammienoot thanks for your reply! :) I will discuss with the other Space wranglers and let you know Asap somethings! :) @flukeout @jonathanprozzi
Hello @ammienoot! As MozFest is approaching we’re asking that you reply to this issue with an outline of the topics and activities for your session. A rough, bullet-point outline with time estimates would be ideal. Thank you and let us know if you have any questions.
Dear Facilitators, we are happy to share with you the MozFest facilitators 2017 Guide at the Link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fezzIH8u0Li6pIHMNYDCuUjA_gHpB4Px9eXQo4Ol7es/edit It is also important to sign in here: https://public.etherpad-mozilla.org/p/festival.fabriders.facilitatorcoaching2017 for the coaching session, that helps you in your facilitation role! :)
Hi there - this would be my rough schedule for the session (see below). Essentially each activity would be 15 minutes long - 5 mins for intro then 10 mins to try it. The first activity doesn't require you to login though and works like a familiarisation exercise, so it can be shorter at 10 minutes. Also if we run out of time or people are struggling, activity 4 is the most complex, so it could be dropped.
(1) Wikirace challenges players to get from one article to another in the shortest time using only links within pages. How fast can you get from Trump to Armageddon? (10 minutes)
(2) Citation Hunt helps to find and fix missing citations on Wikipedia. How many can you do in 10 minutes? (15 minutes)
(3) Histropedia builds interactive timelines from Wikipedia categories. Categorise articles in Wikipedia to improve the timeline. (15 minutes)
(4) Wikipedia Text Adventure is an old school style text based adventure game. The inclusion of places in the game relies on geographical coordinates being included on Wikipedia articles. Can you add new locations to the game? (15 minutes)
@ammienoot @edovio - yes, we can definitely get you another ticket for a co-facilitator. We'll contact you to get those details. Thank you very much for the detailed session outline as well.
@ammienoot - actually, could you please email me Full Name and email address of the new co-facilitator to luke@mozillafoundation.org - thanks!
Hello @ammienoot - we've created the first version of the Web Literacy Space schedule for the weekend and wanted you to have a look...
Please take a few minutes to locate your session (I've had to abbreviate the session names) and let us know if you have any questions or if there are any reasons that you cannot host your session during the chosen time (like a travel conflict or another session you are hosting at the same time). Please comment in this issue and and include @flukeout
to get my attention.
We'll be finalizing the schedule next week and updating the Guidebook app that attendees will use during the festival.
Thanks!

What will happen in your session?
Participants will be (gently) introduced to Wikipedia through a series of short fun games / activities.
(1) Wikirace challenges players to get from one article to another in the shortest time using only links within pages. How fast can you get from Trump to Armageddon?
(2) Citation Hunt helps to find and fix missing citations on Wikipedia. How many can you do in 10 minutes?
(3) Histropedia builds interactive timelines from Wikipedia categories. Categorise articles in Wikipedia to improve the timeline.
(4) Wikipedia Text Adventure is an old school style text based adventure game. The inclusion of places in the game relies on geographical coordinates being included on Wikipedia articles. Can you add new locations to the game?
What is the goal or outcome of your session?
After this session participants will have increased familiarity with the content and style of Wikipedia articles and understand concepts of notability and verifiability and how to make small edits to existing pages such as improving citations, adding geographical data and adding categories.
If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.
I will provide my own laptop so a data projector or large LCD screen is all that is required.
Time needed
60 mins
