cannot complete bumblebee installation #582

I just did a git and downloaded the new bumblebee.. Logged out and back in. Then I uninstalled the old bumblebee (because it was giving me a Cannot Open Display error). When I started running the install.sh , it downloaded and extracted the nvidia software, and my session terminated -- I was logged off. I tried it again, same result.. The install dies at that point.. What shall I try?

ASUS 1215N.. Fedora 15.

I finally solved this by doing an init 3 first and installing bumblebee from the command line. however, it still gives [VGL] ERROR: Could not open display :1. even though xorg.conf.nvidia looks good.
