UI issues (and suggestions) #89

The right most column of items cannot be manipulated, or even highlighted for some reason. Attempting to build one of an item doesn't work. I've gotten 10 billion wood, but for some reason the build wooden pickaxe thing doesn't register this.

Hopefully this doesn't annoy you, but I've got a couple of suggestions.

I was kind of expecting a market system, where I could offload useless items, and exchange them for something more useful. When I think about mining, I automatically assume I'm mining to maintain some kind of profit. (Assuming I'm some kind of mining company)

Also, instead of just holding the "d" or "g" buttons down, what if you made gathering based on time? It would accomplish a similiar effect, but without having to hold the button down. Maybe you, "the commander/ceo", could tell your lackies to focus on gathering something specific.

I like the scavenging system. I feel like something awesome could come out of using the scavenged parts; Maybe building scabbed together ship components with like a blender, a microwave, and a nintendo ds or something.

And Responses:

1 and 2) @antlong may be able to help you identify the cause of this (if it still happens) Can you reproduce it still?

3) you need 25 wood, 1 leather and 5 iron bars- Can you confirm you have all of them?

4) some type of marketing system is planned, but still a long way off. We're still debating between a bartering vs. credit system.

5) We've been talking about a way to gamify mining and other resource collection types.

6) We're still trying out different things with scavenging and enhancements- I could see a starship having cosmetic or enhancement slots that take various items.

If you can answer the above questions, we'll be glad to help figure it out.

With the complete redesign of MM on the way, this likely be resolved. Closing for now.
