Add support for checking out a specific release #50

Bump ubuntu to supported release. Add travis env setting so that it builds without questions. Add support for setting a build arg to change the required release.

Hi, sorry for this huge delay...The project has been unmaintained for quite a long time. An aspiring maintainer flagged that this PR should probably be merged.

Hi, new maintainer here. Sadly this pull request now has conflicts and thus can't really be merged anymore (not your fault, really) and seems to not be maintained further, so I'm going to close this now. But feel free to make a new pull request if you're still interested in helping :)
