@dvirlar2 @rzahabi The ERP web page has disciplinary prompts about issues researchers should consider when filling out ERP metadata. E Hill reviewed and provided feedback. Let's review and incorporate appropriate suggestions into our pages. Her comments are attached here as a word doc.

My version. I've incorporated Erica's suggested changes, left her comments for those to see without having to open two docs, and made a few minor changes as well.

Main thing I think needs discussing is whether we want to roll Marine Science, Wildlife, and Plant & Soil Research all into one umbrella of "Biology & Ecology" like Erica suggested. I think it's a good idea given that they will have the exact same info, but we had originally broken them out to allow users to more easily identify their research niche. I don't think it's super likely that someone reads through sections not relevant to them, so most people may not even notice the duplication. Something to think about.

Overall, I agree with her changes and think they make our page better! 🥳

Thanks, that's helpful. Can you draft these changes into WordPress where we can review?

The only issue I see is the combination of Marine stuff into Biology and Ecology. The main issue I see is that, while I think they are in fact similar enough to be combined, Marine biologists consider the "Marine" part of their title to be a core part of their discipline, and get offended / feel excluded if they are not explicitly mentioned. My impression, at least locally here, is "Biology" and "Ecology" implies terrestrial, and "Marine Bio" and Marine Ecology" are different. In NSF, you can't get funded from the Division of Environmental Biology to do marine ecology or marine biology work -- for that you have to go through the GEO Oceans division. Potential solution: Maybe group multiple disciplines under one header that includes them all?

Update on this: I couldn't figure out how to create a draft of the changes on wordpress without completely updating the page. I have the changes saved as a word doc on my computer.

There were extra changes requested from Allen James Pope at NSF, sent after Erika's suggested changes, that have not yet been incorporated. I think it would be beneficial to review both suggested changes together to determine which suggested changes should be implemented. Happy to set up a time with Angie to do this once she's onboarded; just haven't had the brain space to do this on my own recently.
