Thanks for reporting this. I am assigning this to the next milestone. I don't know when I can work on this, though.
I've just come across this bug, and hadn't realised it was already known. It gives a poor impression to users and seems a simple fix: is there a plan for it?
For the moth survey, we wanted the user to choose the date, as it is convention that moth trap records should be dated from the evening the trapping started, not the morning that the trap is examined, see #193
However, I'm fairly sure that previously, when the user went to enter the date, the starting point offered was today's date.
At the moment, the moth survey option is defaulting to dates in May 2021, which means you have to scroll through the years to find the date you want. Can we rest this so that the user still has to confirm the date, but the starting point is today's date?
(This issue raised by Marc Botham and replicated by me, so I assume it is a general issue for all users. It is only affecting the moth survey, not the other surveys or general records.)
