Closed FedorSteeman closed 3 months ago

In consultation with with Ichthyology staff, we arrived at the several adjustments that need to be made to the imported dataset. Apart from show adjustments to the UI, the preparation types need to be redone. Staff will provide a list of preferred preparation types. Some entries will need to be fixed. Most notably DNA Samples should both indicate the EtOH solution (if indicated) and the count (original pattern was e.g. "2*99%". To enable the emeriti to continue and work in a more conventional way using spreadsheets, a template will have to be provide.

The following tasks make up this ticket:

Staff will have to do the following:

Labels will also have to be designed from scratch, but this will be in a separate ticket #262

Note: There was some concern regarding the "pencil" icon for records in one-to-many relations (like e.g. Locality) that someone would accidentally makes changes that unintended would affect multiple records. The question was whether this feature could be disabled.

[EDIT 2023-11-17:] Further actions:

Restoring question marks for locality names was looked at and deemed too difficult in proportion to gain. This will have to be regarded as a tolerable conversion error.

Widened preparation type fields.
