I updated the Vortex modmanager to the latest version when it prompted me to do so. When the update manager was done and it restarted Vortex, the exact message as described in this post appeared: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7042581-application-state-is-invalid-after-update/?p=64103141 I chose the "Repair" option, btw

I updated Vortex around the same time I updated my Fallout 4 executable. Something went wrong, it asked to be repaired or closed, so I picked repair. Now, it can't load any plugins and displays the following error:

And sure enough, probably 90% of my mods are now missing out of the data folder, with a few appended with ".vortex_backup". I was playing fine yesterday and now all my mods are gone. My Skyrim SE seems to be unaffected.

I have replicated this by switching between two modded games or profiles. With a lot of mods active it can't keep up and fails with Error NO ENTity.

I dropped the .zip file for Majestic Mountains (main file, not light or dark) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/11052, installed it, and it errored out saying it failed to update plugin list. I've had problems before when dropping a LARGE .zip file like this into the "drop file(s)" section, and had better success using the "Install from file" option. I used that "Install from file" option and it was successful, so it seems to be an issue only if I drag/drop a very large .zip file.
