Download Link for all Firmware Versions #77

Original Firmware of the HDK2 was 1.01 but there's no download link for it and I hear it's not in osvr-control either.

1.96 is only available with osvr-control, so only to windows users. Also I can't find the source code to osvr-control.

Please add plain http download links for all firmware versions to the documentation.

Sorry for the oversight - #78 now is open to add the 1.96 builds of the firmware for HDK2 and 1.x. I believe 1.01 is included in the Razer HDK installer - I was able to extract it here with 7-zip (it's an NSIS installer), checking to see if we're allowed to re-upload it to this page - @VRguy ?

I don't care that much about 1.01, it's just because 1.95 and 1.96 are a bit buggy with relation to power management or so.

1.97 sounds like it fixes that, but.. there's no download for it. Maybe the process can be automated by uploading firmware automatically to a directory with indexing on and the documentation only linking to that directory?

Well, the plan/goal is we'll just open source the repo so then you'll have the releases page, with the change log, hex files, upgrade bundles for Windows, etc.

Sorry for the lag on 1.97: finished it up late Friday, and while it's not perfect it improved performance compared to existing versions on all systems tested to the point that we wanted to at least get it out there in some fashion. (I anticipated hearing about the missing hex file download... I'll put it up, but there will probably be another new version within a few days at most anyway)

There might be a way to get download links for the files that are used by OSVR control (published with ms click once), vs what I do now for these links (uploaded separately to s3), but yeah, sorry the setup tends to get out of sync: this is one of the only OSVR project artifacts that isn't CI driven (the other being the Windows driver packages).

I just noticed that directory indexing is on for the OSVR-Control web sources: http://www.sensics.com/software/OSVRControl-SW/Application%20Files/?C=M;O=D

So you can actually download the 1.98 firmware (that is again missing from the documentation here) directly from OSVR-Control:

http://www.sensics.com/software/OSVRControl-SW/Application%20Files/OSVRControl_1_7_0_15/Versions/HDK1314-1-98-OLED.hex.deploy

http://www.sensics.com/software/OSVRControl-SW/Application%20Files/OSVRControl_1_7_0_15/Versions/HDK2-svr-1-98.hex.deploy

Oops - directory indexing is probably not supposed to be on... But you should be able to just edit the URL from the direct firmware download link, I'm pretty sure I put it on s3 already. (The upgrade bundle zip also contains it.)

(I posted links to Reddit last night for the firmware on both devices, but I don't see my post, thinking I might be stuck in moderation because it was my first post (vs comment) and it has links in it but was a text post)
