Specify that Java 8 version is needed. gradlew is not installed globally, so relative path is needed.

@fadelkon Thanks for the contributions! We just got this code pushed to master recently, and we're working on making a release soon. So thanks a lot! On the "bernardo" branch we are changing the command-line utility to much more fully functional. If you'd like to try that out also please do.
