In the past, the question has often arisen as to what content the OEP actually offers. The question always comes up particularly when someone has had no previous contact with the OEP's content work. For this reason, we first created an overview of our ‘products/services’ on the OEP homepage. Later we added courses and the academy and then the compendium.
In my opinion, a very short summary that is displayed on the OEP homepage is still missing. It should clearly list the benefits / Use cases of the OEP for users.
Ideas of solution
Not complete/compact, but that's what I had in mind:
Database:
free data storage of openly licensed data
Support for relational tabular data formats (frictionless data)
Extensive metadata can be used to describe data from the field of energy research
Open Peer Review for uploaded data(metadata) resources
Creation of link data by linking further resources from the OEO or external resources to describe your tabular data
Scenario bundle
Document your modelling process by creating a factsheet about your work
Provide general information, link publications and create detailed factsheets about the models and frameworks used, describe the scenario your model executes: everything is summarised in a bundle that can be easily shared with others.
Compare your bundles with others to get a qualitative overview of the similarity
Green is what should be added (this issue is only about the "main feature ..." part), yellow what we could also include (but not relevant now), blue is what we have
