Open Source Show and Tell is an opportunity to share what you've been working on, learn about projects that your local community is supporting

I'd like to speak about the effort moving forward within the San Francisco City and County government to develop and certify a paper-ballot open source voting system for use in San Francisco starting with the June 2020 election. The project would start this summer.

I'm a software developer and Vice President of the San Francisco Elections Commission.

Some background info:

This is an effort that has been endorsed by (not the full list):

The City's budget process is still going on, so the project is still under consideration by the Mayor and Board and hasn't been approved yet (along with everything else in the budget). The Budget gets passed around July 1.

If you'd like to send a letter of support to the Mayor and Board of Supervisors to ensure the project has adequate funding, let me know and I'll pass along instructions on how to do so! My e-mail address is listed in my GitHub profile.

Great, thanks, @elof!

@elof How long should the talk be? The website / schedule doesn't seem to say.

Hey Chris. Apologies for not responding to this quicker. You will have 10 min for the presentation with a couple min for Q&A

Hi Chris. We're gearing up for the next OSSAT on Fri 6/9 in downtown SF at Google Launchpad. Would love to have you attend and there are a few community speaking spots left if you have something you'd like to talk about this year around :)

http://opensourceshowandtell.com for all the infos.

Even if you can't attend helping us get the word out by telling a friend or posting to some social media would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you have any questions at all.
