Clade workshops

Open Tree of Life and FuturePhy are holding a series of workshops on challenges of tree-data integration. See the original call for proposals. We funded three initial workshops on catfishes, barnacles and beetles.

Conversation

During the workshop, we can use the OpenTree public gitter channel for chat conversation. You can lurk without logging in, or sign in using GitHub to participate.

You can leave an issue on this repo if you have a question.

Hashtag for the meeting: #futurearbOT

Dates and Location

There is an agenda in google docs. This is not set in stone - there is plenty of room to adjust as needed throughout the weekend.

Dinner on Saturday: Leonardos at 7 pm

Flights and lodging

Flights: Airfare is being covered by Open Tree of Life through Duke University. Please do not book your own flights! Contact Jan at McLaurin Travel (jan@mclaurintravel.com) with your flight preferences. All travel must be on US-based carriers to comply with grant regulations.

Hotel: We have reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn. To book you can either call the hotel and book under group code FPW or online with this link: Future Phy Workshop. The rate is $129.00 but it will be taken care of at check-out (Thanks to FuturePhy!) (Update 1/26: The group code expired on 1/22 and there seem to be no rooms left at the hotel, at least on 2/19.)

Before the event

If you have tasks that your group want to get done before the event, feel free to use the issue tracker associated with this repository to track items. For example, you might want to upload specific trees to Open Tree of Life, or assemble trait data for Arbor analyses. We've created labels for each of the groups: barnacles, beetles, catfishes.

For example, I've created an issue asking everyone to add some information to the participant list.
