STABLE-6: OXT-993: Prepare stable branch for build with layers from master #234

Replace the per-container build scripts with current master versions.

Remove the non-per-container build scripts as the scripts in this branch are now to be driven from the main build scripts in the master branch.

We usually add a "STABLE-6:" tag to stable-6 PRs, to tell them apart from master ones.

I am really not in favor of making changes to the 6.x line like this. At this point I really only take security and bug fixes along with some minor functionality fixes like the one Eric did to surfman recently.

ok, so building stable-6 needs to be done in a separate build environment using stable-6 build scripts.
