AMR Annotation Modules (Option 2) We will update the existing k-mer-based annotation software in PATRIC/RAST in order to propagate AMR-related annotations from ARDB, CARD, Resfams, and the manual annotations from AMR Curation (Option 1). We will build and deploy software that enables the direct propagation of AMR-related functions from a reference genome to a closely related strain. This will be deployed in the annotation application that is available on the PATRIC website. Propagation will be enabled for well-studied organisms at first (e.g., Escherichia coli and Mycobacterium tuberculosis), and will be expanded, as PATRIC annotations are reconciled with the reference genome annotations from the community.
