Ros 1.1.x has better support for publishing from a realtime thread.

[jfaust] I'm trying to get out an experimental ros_realtime stack for C-turtle, yes. You can probably hold off on deprecating until it happens though.

[jfaust] rt publisher is still making it into c-turtle. phase 3 lockdown isn't for another few weeks. Or was this because pr2_mechanism locked down during phase 2?
