ESP8266 modules #132

There are many modules listed on http://www.esp8266.com/wiki/doku.php?id=esp8266-module-family. The very common ESP-01 will not fit in the enclosure. We need something 13mm wide or smaller.

Here are the modules that are worth further investigation.

The ESP-09 is promising. It's 10 x 10 mm. In the image below the white box indicates a 10 x 10 mm square. It would be worth finding a new RTC battery backup solution (#16, #103 ).

Wow! Check out the ESP-09. This footprint is probably even larger than it needs to be, so we can free up some space. I think this might work :-) screen shot 2017-01-24 at 21 31 58

The ESP-09 module fits nicely. Still need an antenna #134. Still need to implement a new RTC backup solution (#103, #16). screen shot 2017-01-25 at 12 05 52
