Overview

An introduction of zombies with various specializations, seeing the shambler as a generalized zombie

Hound

A zombie that has retained its sense of smell, but not its intelligence.

• can smell the player if they are bloody
• detection range depends on overall bloodiness
• will eat the corpses of fallen zombies
• attracted by the smell of rotting corpses
• animations show a more beast-like style of movement as if regressing

Whisper

In a desperate struggle they clung to their sense of awareness while losing all else.

• twice the detection radius of shambler
• half the speed of a slow shambler
• does not make noise
• good memory
• repeats their dying words

Starved

Weak, feeble and shambling bones. The starved no longer cares what their source of vitality is.

• will eat other zombies if left alone for a week
• heals and gains strength from eating
  • this follows a "level up" system in which their max hp, strength and speed will grow (comparable to a fast shambler but with more hp)
  • once fully "leveled" the starved will evolve into another zombie type
• will eat food it finds in containers and on the floor
• can die from food poisoning

Fallen

A zombified veteran or accomplished martial practitioner. Their bodies remember.

• will attempt to attack the player with a weapon
• low accuracy with firearms and will fall over if missing a melee attack
• Clumsy
• low hp, they didn't fall without a fight
