This is an old branch I've had lying around for years. It implements fully automatic location highlighting on the main minimap for marines and aliens that works on any map.
It uses the location entities to determine how to highlight the current location, which for the most part creates a reasonable result (barring a few places where triggers weren't quite lined up with the playable space, though in such cases it's a useful debug tool for mappers (admittedly it's a bit late for that now though)).
