Hmm I'm thinking this must be either an issue with the Steam version specifically or perhaps an issue with some update that was released because I played through the entire GOG version of the Definitive Series a while ago using this patch and it worked fine (though this was at 3440x1440 I doubt that would make the difference).
I'll try and remember to reinstall the game to double check to make sure it's still working on my end and then if it does I'll have to look into why the Steam version is different
Thanks for the reply!
I bit the bullet and muscled through the issues up to episode 3 so far, as opposed to simply booting up each episode from the start to see if I could get some rhyme or reason. Thus far the sidebar has only been present in the opening segments of each episode? e.g: Up to the crash in first, and up to St. Johns farm in the second. I can only imagine there's some sort of asset or artifact they've hidden behind the bars.
Though after going back to the original resolution after using your fix, I'd rather have that on the side of my screen than the black bars they've clearly forced on there for little to no reason. So regardless, thank you for this, and I am happily using it. Your work is appreciated.
Yea, having the same issues from Epic Games.
Monitor: 3840 x 1600
Playing on: 3440 x 1440
The dead zone for the cursor and hud still locked into a 1920x1080 on 2560 × 1080, and assets such as subtitles and QTE's are forced to one side of the screen. A smudged, half transparency bar fills the other half of the screen that comes and goes between the game's transitions with no consistency. I've used both 1.2 and the latest versions of the patcher, using a fresh install for each test, to the same effect throughout the entirety of Season 1's content.
Menus are also littered with duplicated and meshed content where the bars originally were, though I presume that's just them not expecting those bars to be removed. I've attached examples, Running on Steam, and have noticed that the game is locked into a borderless setting, which might be the cause? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Understandable if you are no longer working on, or willing to troubleshoot on the patcher. Thanks.
