Webmail/webapp receives email before the Proton Bridge #324

Hello,

I noticed that emails appear first in the webmail app, and then (seconds to dozen of seconds after) in the Bridge.

Even when my email client is polling the bridge every 500ms.

I don't know how the bridge is being notified that there is a new email available, but in case it's polling, is there a setting somewhere to increase the frequency at which the bridge polls Proton server?

Thanks!

Victor

I agree, it often takes very long until e-mail arrives via the bridge. This can be quite bothersome if you're urgently waiting for something... please fix.

Hi @waterdrop01, Thank you for your report. We are aware of this behaviour and not happy with it (Internal reference: GODT-2225). Unfortunately, because we depend on other teams, we cannot give you a timeline that we can stand behind. But it is definitely on our radar.

Any updates here?

It seems like the "sync frequency" between the bridge and webmail is set to a fixed rate, and that the end-user have no way to control it. It would be great if that rate, can be configured as part of the settings in proton bridge. Maybe define a minimum and a maximum rate and users can chose a value in that range.
