ROV (Prototype):

The system must allow commands to be sent from shore to the ROV underwater Constraints:

Must allow ~15 m of depth for communication
Datarate must be compatible with navigation commands
Power consumption should be suitable according to power subsystem requirements
Receiver size must fit within hull/frame of the ROV Suggestions:
System components must be compatible with chosen AUV approach to avoid wasting budget
AUV (First Iteration of Final Design):

The system may be used as one of the following:

Wireless Inter-Sub Communication

Constraints:
Same constraints (but not functionality) as the system in the ROV phase
Transmitter must fit within hull/frame of ROV
Navigation commands must be sendable from underwater by on-board mission control
Wireless On-Shore Data Tether
Same constraints and functionality as the system in the ROV phase
Added functionality of sending high datarate data from the ROV including localization information, logging and camera feeds
A single transmitter-receiver pair (or transeiver unit) should fit within the hull of the ROV
The transmitter-reciever pair should be compatible with both onshore and inter-sub communication
