"In my research I primarily work with:"
=> distinguish between semantics of data VS data format VS how data comes in i.e.
[social, climate] VS [point-/grid-based] VS [batch/streaming]
"Kinds of Datasets"
maybe use 'structured text' as a synonym for 'surveys' or write 'structured text, e.g. surveys'
"model output"? more specific or leave it out
"Kinds of Datasets + File Format" very similar questions, maybe merge
csv = excel basically
add JSON, GeoJSON
"Size"
distinguish between how large individual files are VS how many files they have
"Do you have any hardware/software requirements?"
elaborate = e.g. why are they forced to use certain hardware/os/browser and can't switch to other?
"Desired output"
add JSON, GeoJSON, and 'just visualization' (in which case the format doesn't really matter as long as they have it visualized in the end)
apart from these, the survey is useful + detailed enough
what are the spatial / temporal resolutions they work with for individual datasets (if resolution is well-defined, i.e. the lat/lon/time steps are uniform)
among all their datasets, do these have different spatial / temporal resolutions
and very importantly i would add:
within a specific dataset do they have non-uniform spatial / temporal resolution, i.e. non-uniform lat/lon/time steps?
also, i'd add:
do they want to interpolate or just aggregate a time series (i.e. do they want to aggregate the time series from e.g. hourly -> daily or do they want to interpolate it from daily -> hourly and thus creating new values (and thus incurring interpolation artifacts))?
some small suggestions for the EDE survey @cszc
