@mikejiang, implementing changes @amcdavid proposed for recent scales change (https://github.com/RGLab/flowWorkspace/pull/393) so we don't require scales >= v1.3.0 dependency for flowWorkspace.
Tracking open-source cytoverse changes using ODC-68 epic so we have a record in the event that we need to update our internal cytoverse suite too.
