Preloader Handshake Failure #12

Open PapaDingus opened 4 months ago

PapaDingus commented 4 months ago

I may just be doing something wrong, but regardless I'm confused as to why it keeps looping this text:

..........Preloader Preloader - [LIB]: Status: Handshake failed, retrying...

Port - Hint:

Power off the phone before connecting. For brom mode, press and hold vol up, vol dwn, or all hw buttons and connect usb. For preloader mode, don't press any hw button and connect usb. If it is already connected and on, hold power for 10 seconds to reset.

I also don't know anything about the Google USB Driver part of this and I'm assuming that's likely the issue

Any help would be amazing

Mine does the same. If I unplug it and plug it back in, I get a bunch of these: Handshake: could not open port 'COM6': FileNotFoundError(2, 'The system cannot find the file specified.', None, 2)

Possibly wrong USB driver selected? This troubleshooting note at the bottom might have a hint....

"If the script stalls at any point, please check devmgmt.msc - Device Manager, and select the appropriate driver. If the script says "Plug in USB" or similar, you may need to select any "Preloader USB VCOM" driver If the script says "Waiting for device" or similar, you may need to select any "fastboot" driver."

Like @MrMediaGuy mentioned, given that you're having issues with initial handshake, please check if you have the right "Preloader USB VCOM (Android)" driver installed. You can check devmgmt.msc, with the device turned off, the device should show up briefly for about 2 seconds. There are links in the readme to install the right driver.

I'll give it another try when I get home and back to a Windows machine. I only have a Mac at work with me

I'm also running into this issue, when plugging in the device this appears in for the two seconds mentioned but handshake is still failing image
