Following upgrade to eDir to 8.8 SP8, unable to create session password error #606

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Following upgrade to eDir to 8.8 SP8

1.Use the forgotten password link
2.Enter username
3.Enter correct responses

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to get change password screen but get PWM 5026 unable to establish 
session password.

What version of PWM are you using?
v1.6.1 b1123 (release) however get the same on v1.7.1

What ldap directory and version are you using?
eDir  8.8 SP8

Please paste any error log messages below:

Hi Pete,

We are having exactly the same issues after an upgrade to 8.8.8 and then PWM 
1.7.1

Did you find a resolution?  We are pretty desperate as our users cannot use PWM 
at present.

Without seeing the entire trace I can't be for sure, but this sounds like an 
issue that was fixed in 1.7.1.  The root issue is that eDirectory "Vendor 
version" flag changed from "Novell eDirectory" to "NetIQ eDirectory" in 8.8.8, 
so PWM could no longer correctly detect the directory type.  To verify if this 
is or isn't look on the admin about screen or in the logs at debug level 
(search for "vendor") to see if it is showing generic or eDirectory.

Hi, Thanks for the response. Your comment made me take another look at 1.7.1 
and I had something else misconfigured. All now ok. Issue can be closed.
