Ok my main usage for xdotool was to emulate a german keyboard layot. Is there a way to ydotool type the characters äöüÄÖÜß?

I havent looked into the source yet but i bet its not gonna be trivial patching this.

use evtest,choose your keyboard, and tap on the keys, it will give you the keycode of the key you've pressed
