Doesn't it need a Microsoft Account?
Good point. I forgot about that. I'm not sure, though.
It only needs a Microsoft account for multiplayer.
I can't wait for this to be a reality. Having the most up-to-date version of Minecraft on the Vita? Being able to play it on the Vita's gorgeous OLED screen? Being able to have physical controls without having to carry around an external controller? Being able to cross-play with other consoles? Being able to use my custom skin without having to mod the game? It sounds like a dream come true, and if Rinnegatamante can pull this off, I'd be the happiest Vita owner ever.
@Techguy791 it wouldn't be up to date. The newest version possible would probably be the nether update. After that Mojang dropped support for Android devices with under 512MB of ram. You might be able to find a way to fit 1.17 on the vita if you can find a workaround, but 1.18 with its increases to the height and depth limit would likely be impossible. Still, updating from 1.13 to 1.16 or 1.17 would be awesome. Also you wouldn't be able to play multiplayer even if the other devices you're playing with are downgraded to whatever the last version the vita can run is, since the Vita Android wrapper doesn't support wifi.
@OldWorldOrdr That makes sense. It still would be amazing. Mod support alone would make it worth it. For 1.17+, there's always Moonlight.
I CANT WAIT IM SOOOOO EXCITED
I hope it goes well...
Me too
