Thanks for the report, the panda's don't get as much testing from me as they use too. This was a silly mistake, wasn't passing dtb=omap4-panda(version).dtb to the bootloader, so it wasn't passing the -es variant. (the es doesn't boot on the non-es).

I tried using netinstall over a serial port on multiple pandaboard es with multiple sdcards. I tried wheezy, jessie and trusty. I always get the same error during kernel loading:
