Sublime Text hangs every few seconds #501

Not sure when this started happening, but Sublime repeatedly freezes for a few seconds when there's no Arduino connected, and it's really irritating. I've had to remove Stino for periods of time when I'm not working on Arduino projects, as it makes using Sublime very difficult.

Is this a known issue or a bug? Anyone else experience this?

On macOS 10.13.5, latest public Sublime Text 3.1.1 build 3176.

I can reproduce that on Linux.

As of Mojave 10.14.0 the issue still persists.
