There are more features here than are needed for the PoC. Feel free to postpone some, but make sure I approve.

Got it, thank you!

josemvidal commented 1 year ago

Better to use labels for Mobile and Web.

Also, since you are building an Android app, you need to add Issue "Build .apk for Release" to your PoC Milestone.

Again, we only require 1 app for this class. Not 2. But, you can build 2 if you want.

lxaw commented 1 year ago

@josemvidal Should we only focus on one part of the application (ie web or mobile)?

josemvidal commented 1 year ago

Yes, I recommend only building 1 app, like everyone else. You will be able to go deeper, learn more about your platform.

For the final release we are looking for professional-quality app, fully featured, no bugs.

lxaw commented 1 year ago

@josemvidal Understood. As we were intending on building two apps, our task assignment reflects this. Is that okay for now? We have made significant progress on both. We will reconvene as a team to discuss how to split up a single application.

josemvidal commented 1 year ago

OK. I am just recommending, because it would be easier for you.

You are free to do as you please. So, yeah, 2 is OK.

lxaw commented 1 year ago

@josemvidal Ok, thanks for the feedback. It is likely that we will switch to only focusing on the web-app then. The PoC issues are still valid, however only consider the web ones.

josemvidal commented 1 year ago

To make it official, remove them from the PoC milestone, then let me know.

lxaw commented 1 year ago

@josemvidal Will do. Thanks!

lxaw commented 1 year ago

@josemvidal All mobile PoC milestones should be closed now. The relevant web ones included in your first comment would be #66 #67 #68 #69 #70 #71 #72 #73 #74 #75 #76 #77 #78 #79 #80.

Let me know if anything else is needed. Thank you!

Looks good! 👍 Updated above.

lxaw commented 1 year ago

@josemvidal When you mentioned that there are more features than the PoC and that we can postpone some, when should we tell you which ones to postpone? For instance, some of the more complex ones like graphs based on data may be something that 492 would be better to tackle with. We do of course intend on doing all features.

josemvidal commented 1 year ago

As soon as you know. We will be grading the PoC based on the features we agreed you were going to do.

If you want to drop some, you will want to know beforehand that I approve the drop.

lxaw commented 1 year ago

@josemvidal Got it. Our team will met soon and discuss what we reasonably believe to be possible by December.

lxaw commented 1 year ago

@josemvidal Upon discussion and consideration of the progress of Valafar's other team (ie, the machine learning people), we believe that the following features should be postponed. I have listed each with an explanation:

  1. 67 : "User can see their data as a chart or graph on their homepage" It is unlikely that their team will have fully developed the ML models along side the API for sending the models or the annotated data. Thus we would like to postpone this feature, since we are not the only ones responsible for it. The charts were to be largely data from their models, so we cannot really do much here.

  2. 68 "User can customize homepage to display different data" Similarly, this was intended to be a feature that uses the data that was obtained by the ML models described above. This is unfeasible if there are not models available, and if they have not developed an API for us to grab data easily. We can add customization of the home page in the way described by Design only if we have the data from their models, which likely we will not have.

  3. 78 "User can review uploaded items" Reviews may be possible, but with the level of detail we want to perfect the file transfer process, this also seems unfeasible. Since we are still waiting on the more data-sciency features of the application from the other Valafar team, our project essentially is a Dropbox-like web app that is aimed at researchers. We need to ensure that data can be easily viewed, uploaded, deleted, and modified prior to adding the more social media aspects.

Please let me know if anything else is required. Thank you.

Looks good 👍 Updated above.

lxaw commented 1 year ago

@josemvidal Just to be sure, in the first comment that has been updated there are still references to the mobile app. We will not be pursuing the mobile app for this class, only the web app. Our PoC will thus only consider items related to the web app.

lxaw commented 1 year ago

This should have all the required features: https://github.com/SCCapstone/Delta/milestone/9

josemvidal commented 1 year ago

Note that the Milestone still has lots of Issues under closed.

Please remove the PoC milestone from ALL issues that should not have it, even the closed ones.

lxaw commented 1 year ago

@josemvidal Just realized that; my apologies. Has been fixed now, thanks!

josemvidal commented 1 year ago

Also remove the "Web" ones you do not plan to do for the PoC Milestone. Closed means: done or wontfix

You want to move those to future Milestones (Beta Release, RC1 Release etc) or just leave them without a Milestone.
