Galaxy S4 Verizon tether won't work with latest Verizon update #1863

Which device (manufacturer, type)?
Samsung Galaxy S4 Verizon

Which firmware is installed?
4.2.2 (ME7)

What version of wireless tether are you using?
3.3 beta 2 & 3.4 experimental

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start WiFi Tether
2. Press to start tethering
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: SSID visiable on other devices
See: Tethering started with errors, Show log says unable to open log file. file
does not exist

Please provide any additional information below.
Using the Auto, ad-hoc and master setup methods tethering starts with errors
and the show log says file does not exist. Using the tether framework option
tethering starts but the phone software takes over and wifi tether stops. I am
guessing this has to do with the July update on the S4 as other tether widgets
are interrupted by the phone software.

Attached is the log from /data/data/com.googlecode.android.wifi.tether/var

Exact same issue with Samsung Galaxy S4 T-mobile running rooted M919UVUAMDL OTA
update. Log file is the same, only viewable from terminal not from inside app.

I made a symlink in /data to /data/data/com.......tether/ and now I can view
the log. But now the log just shows it fails on activating Wi-Fi interface,
hostapd, Routing fix, nat, mss. Ip forwarding succeeds. Access control fails.

The solution that worked for me... Root, install safestrap 3.6, install a
custom ROM on the safe side.

Rooted VGS4 on MJ7, will not work. Same issue. NO tether app works for me
except FoxFi which sucks....a fix would be nice...
