isnt it just very slow?
Not slow. Interestingly, trying a wider selection of media, I have discovered that one SDHC card does work normally with SFM. Limited testing because I'm on holiday at present and only have 3 (SanDisk) cards to try:- mSDHC Ultra 32Gb C10 U1 867 .jpg files plus a few small auxiliary files/folders 7.33Gb used N/A mSDHC High Endurance 32Gb C10 U3 63 .mp4 + 25 .jpg files 19.1Gb used, SFM shows folders almost instantly, slight delay listing rmp4s. SDHC 8Gb C4 1425 .jpg files in 44 folders 6.5 Gb used N/A. *N/A = No Access not even to top-level folders.
I originally discovered this problem 2 days before leaving home when a USB-C OTG to USB-A female cable arrived - bought to view/transfer my photos to my tablet while on holiday. Never had any problems before, none of a random selection of media known to work (and re-checked) on my old tablet were readable on my new Tab S3. Assumed cable was a dud. Bought another OTG cable, same thing. Then discovered thar the Samsung file manager has no problem reading any of th camera cards. Didn't try the one card (from water-proof camera) until I took some videos with it yesterday. Automatically used SFM to view them and then did a double-take.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 SM-T825 Android 9 Internal Storage supplemented by 128Gb micro SDXC card. When a USB flash drive or card reader is plugged into the USB-C port, SFM correctly lists all 3 storage devices under Select Storage: Internal SD card USB. But selecting USB, no folders or files are shown. Samsung's own file manager (MyFiles) shows and handles USB device normally (but only has limited functions which is why I use SFM).
