Support for monitoring build number change #65

This should handle #17 's request. However, the implementation has yet to be thoroughly tested. Please let me know if any changes are needed.

Thanks for your PR! I will continue the work on a dedicated feature branch feature/build-number and will let you know when the changes are available with a new release.
