Ceramic Fish, and to an extent Smiling Mask, both factor into infinite money exploits which can trivialize many runs. This is more explicit during Command Artifact runs when a single Ceramic Fish can activate on item potentials just by interacting, but not picking an item. Spamming racks up insane amount of funds. This can also be done with void potentials.

With Smiling Mask and Executive Card (gain 10% cost back) this can similarly be applied on chance shrines, which also trigger Ceramic Fish. If you either get no items after several uses, OR you have anything that increases the number of times the shrines can be used you can easily rack up absurd funds.

Maw Bank and Golden Idol can make any of the above exploits escalate even faster. Additional gold includes gold returned from Executive Card.

Recommend setting limits on at least Ceramic Fish in some fashion if there's any intention of maintaining balance.

Well firstly, I made Ceramic Fish before executive card was added to the game.

I always knew the potential of insane ceramic fish stacks making infinite money glitches, and eventually decided that its fine as is since its just modded risk of rain 2.

That's probably why the devs steered clear of money items, because a lot of items in the base game can trivialize the run with a solid strategy in command or finding a few good printers. To me that's part of RoR2.

I did any "balance testing" on my own and in normal (not command) runs.

I could make the benefit of ceramic fish decay, with each stack (think tougher times) and/or make the executive card not stack with it. Not sure though. Golden Idol is just insanely cracked and I'm not sure what I'd do to stop that, I just settled to make it true to Slay the Spire. I think Maw Bank is pretty balanced because it locks you out of lunar coins and the shop (unless you get lucky with blue portals). Obviously if in multiplayer if you have someone else to buy things for you, then Maw Bank is just stupid good too.

Idk. What would you recommend I do for it? Open to thoughts
