[Package Request] Recomplile Samba for Synology + CTDB package #1384

Hello,

Do you think it is possible to recompile Samba for Synology to work with CTDB database. And also to compile CTDB for Synology? :) As Syncthing working on Synology NAS'es, I'm looking for a way to achieve sync of file locking. TDB database couldn't be sync between nodes, so maybe ctdb is the way?

This will enter in conflict with the current Samba server running on Synology NASes. You should ask Synology to add CTDB support to DSM.

I've been more thinking about replacing current Samba ;)

PR accepted, we can help if you need but I doubt anyone would do the job for you as this is a really specific need.

pszafer commented 9 years ago

help is enough :)

but for now I will wait for response from Synology techs, since maybe they will include it in some of next DSM version

Anyone knows how to use synology smbclient from a spksrc package? Compiling samba (containing libsmbclient.so library) seems odd imo. Thx a lot.

pszafer commented 7 years ago

what do you mean by 'how', what do you want to accomplish? :)

vkostas commented 7 years ago

ok. I am looking how to make syno smbclient library available to MPD. I have been able to compile most of (optional) dependencies but not this one. And of course it would be at least odd to re-compile samba.
