Dell LightFx feature request #471

Hello, this is a request for you to potentially add support for older LightFx devices (M1710, M1730, 720 H2c, 630i, etc)

However, I did run into an issue collecting data for you. On these devices, lighting appears to be controlled over SMBus, not USB. Dell XPS M1730 Wistron DS1 Siberia 06248-SC Rev SC.pdf Here I have attached a datasheet for the model, on page 37 you'll find the controller information.

Is there anything I can do to help you implement this? Thank you for reading!

Oh, it's funny. Like Aurora R6/7.

You know, controlling hardware directly is a hard task under Windows - M$ don't like open source developers, so i was forced to use clean rootkit code to run unsigned driver.

Good news are Dell lazy too (developing drivers isn't so cheap and fast), so they expose some interfaces into ACPI and WMI. We need to look for it using BIOS dump.
