BizHawk is a multi-system emulator written in C#. BizHawk provides nice features for casual gamers such as full screen, and joypad support in addition to full rerecording and debugging tools for all system cores.
In PabloMK7's Citra, there is a "Pedometer steps per hour" option that allows you have steps in the pedometer (see image) (On console, you can see this on the 3DS Home Menu at the top. This is not the same as Play Coins).
This is necessary for some games. The only game I know of truly is Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, which has OP gear called "Hiking Boots", who's stats get maxed if you have 10,000 steps or more in a single day, and it is an essential gear for speedrunning and TASing due to its immense power. I believe Pokemon X/Y also uses the pedometer for something, however I do not know what for.
